Track the social impact of your WordPress site for free

I knew that the last addition ‘for free’ to the post title would certainly catch your attention #lol. I just installed this new WordPress plugin yesterday and it is working like a charm so big compliment to @Riyaznet who developed this plugin.

Obviously a few of the reasons you write your blogs is for exposure, branding your bizz and establishing yourself as the ‘go-to’ person in a certain niche, right? And the way we share all our knowledge beyond our blogs has become through Social Media.Of course I don’t have to tell you to get your Facebook Share or Google +1 buttons on your site to make the sharing so much easier for your readers. But then what? You have to check every post to see if it has been shared and if so how many time

How nice would it be to have an overview of all of your shares, retweets and Google +1′s for all of your posts in a window like this one below?

Introducing Social Metrics for WordPress

Social Metrics is a new WordPress plugin that will be a big help for monitoring your site’s social impact. It adds a screen in your dashboard where you can see all your WordPress posts and exactly how many times they’ve been shared across Twitter, Facebook, Google +1, Google Buzz, StumbleUpon, Digg and LinkedIn. The developer is a great source of WordPress plugins so I would definately go and visit his website and check these out. Oh and did I mention that they are free

Some of the really nice features

• filtering the output by categories and by month
• you can quickly switch between posts and pages
• choosing how many posts you wish to see at a time
• did you forget to share a post? No worries share them with one click from right within the Social Metrics Dashboard

Measuring truly is the groundwork for success

How many times have you heard that before right? Because it is true duh! I guess the word that everyone is getting a little bit tired of is ROI. But even though this word is used as many times as for instance the word ‘authentic’ you really do have to measure to get (more) succesful! You want to know what posts your readers respond to most don’t you? Then write some more of those and increase your reader base and thus increase your exposure that will lead to all sorts of new business for sure.
