Jakolien, how did you get the cool “Follow me” buttons on your LinkedIn Profile?
I’ve had quite a few Tweeps asking me last week and this week how I got these cool Twitter follow buttons on my LinkedIn profile? Well I can’t take the credit for that (It is a brand new feature from LinkedIn) but it IS depended on your settings and installed Apps. So I thought I’d make a quick tutorial for all my Sokrates Academy Recruitment 2.0 Alumni and make you guys happy by sharing it with you as well. So here goes!
The below screen capture shows how my LinkedIn profile looks when viewed from another account and there are the follow buttons to make it a breeze for viewers to keep track off your tweets with just 1 click.

Go to Profile | Edit Profile …

Your connected Twitter accounts on your LinkedIn profile

Just before your Public Profile are your connected Twitter Accounts (If you haven’t connected them already, I got you covered @ the end of this tutorial)
You get this pop-up screen with your Twitter settings

Authentication step

And there you go!

You’re all done!
All you need to do is to check your profile from someone else’s account seeing as you cannot view them when you are logged in!
But trust me this will do the trick. Just ask someone to verify and make a screenshot if you want to see the result ツ
What if you do not have the Twitter app installed on your LinkedIn profile?

No worries, I won’t tell you that you should have done this a long time ago (Whoops #lol). Just follow these few simple steps
Where to go to install apps in LinkedIn

Install Tweets by pressing on the button

Follow the install steps

Once you press on the “Tweets” button you get practically the same installation and authorization steps as described above for the connection of your Twitter and LinkedIn account. Just follow the steps as presented to you.
Bonus Tip | Find out which of your LinkedIn connections is already on Twitter!

In the settings of the Tweets app there is a tab “connections” when you have connected your Twitter account to LinkedIn as per the steps before, you will see your LinkedIn connections that already have Twitter account. Walk thought these (on a monthly bases) and connect to the ones you want with one click!. You can even list them in Twitter in a special (private) LinkedIn list if you want to.
Congrats, you are done! And before I forget…

….. don’t forget to follow me on Twitter to get more awesome tips!
Have a great day!

Great tips – I have to admit that I have been neglecting my linked in account. I don’t think I have my twitter link on there so these steps are much appreciated!
